In this article I will guide you through my personal experience with seeing specific signs that are meaningful to me and then give you the step-by-step method I learned to ask for a sign from the Universe, God, Spirit, or angels. Whomever you relate to is what you should choose. A lot of the times when we are questioning something we are also being guided by our own inner knowing or intuition. Seeing signs and asking for signs is a great way for you to connect back to yourself and trust not only yourself but the guidance that is available to you. When yousurrender to the possibility that something bigger than you is supporting you and watching over you, themagic of having childlike faith returns. I am going to share with you my own personal experience with signs.

I once heard that seeing a Red Cardinal was a loved one who had passed away communicating with us and letting us know they are near. I thought that was a beautiful sentiment and I believe that to be true. There are many other symbols that can represent the same thing and be personal to you and your journey. Allow that connection to be unique to you. For me the Red Cardinal has been distinct for me on my journey. I have always seen them and thought they are so pretty with that vibrant red color. I really started noticing them all over within the last few years. Something about me for you to know with this story is that I was adopted as a baby. It was an open adoption, and I was able to see my birth parents' information and was given the option to meet them if I wanted to. So, a couple years ago, I decided it was time to reach out to my birth mother. I was driving down the road and tears started coming down my face with this strong inner knowing that it was time to reach out to her and at the same time I was crying, there was a commercial on the radio talking about cardinals. I heard it and thought it could be related but didn't want to go there yet because I hadn't reached out and that would mean she had passed. So, I reached out to the adoption agency, and she had passed a year prior.

I was still able to connect with her husband and my birth brother in July of that year, so I took that opportunity and mailed them a letter. Within that letter, I mentioned that I see red cardinals and I connect them to her. When I received a letter back from them, they let me know that my birth mom saw the Red Cardinal as a symbol as well. She would see them and say it was her dad after he passed, she collected items that had red cardinals on them and her favorite baseball team was the St. Louis Cardinals! So, her birthday is on 7/26 and that day I saw 4 red cardinals before lunchtime. Shortly after lunch, I received my first text from my birth brother. That was her way of letting us know she was near and watching over us. Almost every time I talk with my birth brother, I see a red cardinal. My birth brother and my birth mom's husband had let me know that she had found a ring for me about 15 years ago and wanted me to have it. I traveled back home to Nebraska where I was born and raised in July 2024 to meet them and at my first stop at my best friend's house, I was looking out the window and the first thing I saw was a red cardinal in the tree! I knew she was near and watching over this trip. So, I went to meet them, and they gave me the ring and when I put it on, it fits me perfectly, I don't even need to get it sized. I then returned to North Carolina and put the ring on one morning for the first time and I walked out my front door and a red cardinal flew right past me! It's now been over a year since I have been speaking with my birth brother and in a conversation, we were talking about angel numbers and he said our mom used to see 7:17 everywhere, which happens to be the day her dad passed away. My brother nor I had never spoken about this before. I screamed in a good way because I have been seeing 7:17 everywhere I go for the last couple of years. Which goes along with the timeframe of when I reached out to my birth family. I even had a picture of 7:17 on my phone because I was seeing it so much.

You can choose to believe whatever you want to believe on this journey of your life, that's the beautiful part about all of this, it's your choice. I wanted to share this story because I believe in my heart that we receive guidance all around us, especially when we are paying attention and willing to receive it. It's a beautiful, joyous and peaceful experience for me when I do see my signs. It's like a warm hug and I feel like a child that is surrounded by magic and miracles.

You can also ask for a specific sign if you want confirmation of knowing you are on the right path in any given situation. I learned this 4-step method in the book Super Attractor by Gabrielle Berstein. (link below) I have used this method for various situations to receive confirmation that I am on the right path. It has worked for me and helped me develop trust in my own intuition and in the connection with my divine spirit team by being open to receiving guidance and trusting it. First, you pick a sign. It can be a symbol, number, song, or phrase anything you want. Don't overthink it, just let it be the first thing that comes to your mind. Second, you say a prayer asking for the Universe, God, angels whomever you believe in to reveal your sign to you if you are on the right path and it is for your highest good. Third, you surrender the outcome and let it go. You forget about it and wait patiently. The key is to surrender, you don't need to control or force seeing the sign, you relax and have fun in the waiting. Fourth, is receiving the sign. When you receive the sign, it will be like looking at a billboard of it. It will be so obvious, and you will feel it deeply within you, it's an inner knowing. It's a feeling of connection, joy, peace and love. Don't overthink the sign or how it needs to show up because it could appear in your dreams, the actual symbol, as a word or even someone saying your sign to you. All of those are ways of receiving your sign. If you don't see your sign, it's a sign as well. You may be trying to control a situation or the outcome and that may mean you need to let go and allow things to flow with more ease or maybe ask for more guidance or change direction. Trust your intuition and your inner knowing, when you receive signs, they are magical and feel good, that's how you know.

There isn't a right or wrong answer. You will always be supported and guided on your journey in a way that supports your growth and highest good. There will be lessons to learn and awareness to be gained. No matter the path you take stay open to all the guidance and opportunities you receive. It may not always be what you want but what you need to grow and see things from a different perspective. Cheers to the journey ahead!
